I recently received an email that appeared to be from myself—about one of my own accounts. Because of that, I immediately recognized it as spam. But for many people, spotting these kinds of messages isn’t always so easy.
If you ever receive an “admin” email warning about things like “full disk capacity” or asking you to “re-verify your email,” and it includes a button or link to click—don’t do it. Instead, contact your provider directly and ask whether the message is legitimate.
I often get emails or calls from clients asking about these kinds of messages, and I’m always glad they do. It only takes a minute to double-check, and that small step can prevent a major headache from falling for a phishing scam.
Hope this helps.
